Kindergarten Newsletter: Dec. 2012
Assalam-U-Aliakum Wa Rahmatullah. Hoping this reaches you in the best of health. The following is in progress for the month of December.
Tajweed:Students will be memorizing all of Surah Al-Zilzal Ayah #1-4 along with learning the Makharij #10-12. Students will be tested on Surah Al-Zilzal Ayah #1-4 and the Makharij #10-12 on Thursday, December 20, 2012 Insha’Allah. Nazirah will be done on individual basis. Please send “Quran Made Easy” by, Shabbir A. Behlim with your child
Aqaaid: Students will be learning Fifth Kalimah Arabic with Urdu and English meaning. Students will be tested on “Fifth Kalimah Arabic with Urdu and English meaning“on Thursday, December 20, 2012 Insha’Allah.
Students will be learning Lesson # 5 “Allah Ta’laa is the one who see all ( Al-Wadood)” & Lesson # 6 “Allah Ta’laa is the one who is the most kind”(Ar-Rahman). Students will be tested on “Lesson 5 & 6” on Tuesday December 21, 2012 Insha’Allah.
Ahadeeth:Students will be memorizing Hadeeth # 27 # 28 & # 29 with translation. Students will be tested on Hadeeth # 27 #28 & #29 with translation on Thursday, December 20, 2012 Insha’Allah.
Fiqh:Students will be learning Lesson # 2 “Keep your body clean”. Students will be tested on “Keep your body clean” on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 Insha’Allah.
Akhlaaq &Adaab:Students will be learning Lesson # 4 “Relatives & families”. Students will be tested on “Relatives & families” on Monday, December 17, 2012 Insha’Allah.
History:Students will be learning Lesson # 5 “Hazrat Ibraheem (A.S) idol worshipping & Lesson # 6 Hazrat Ibraheem (A.S) Family ties. Students will be tested on “Lesson 5 & 6” on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 Insha’Allah.
Dua:Students will be memorizing “Dua for suhoor and Dua for protection from harm”. Students will be tested on “Dua for suhoor and Dua for protection from harm” on Friday, December 21, 2012 Insha’Allah.
Urdu:Students will be learning letter گ ک ق غ ع . Recognize the letters & how to read and write. Students will be memorizing the nazm “Jarah dhoom machata aaya” & “Achcha bachcha” Students will be tested every Thursday Insha’Allah.
Language Arts/Reading:
Your child is moving into theme 5, Surprises; they will learn to make small sentences, compare and contrast, and retell beginning, middle, and end of stories.
Math:
Your child is working on Measurements (thermometers, inches, and feet), telling time to the quarter hour, and beginning addition using dominoes. They will continue to count by 2’s, 3’s, 5’s and 10’s. They have already begun working with dimes.
Science:
The students are finishing animal food chains and Animal habitats. They will move onto ‘Looking at Earth’ and learning ‘what it looks like’ (water and land), and go in depth of studying rocks and soils.
Social Studies:
Our lessons are linked to our Science concepts. Your child is learning the geography of Earth and our world. They will continue to look at maps.
Spelling List:
Spelling tests will be taken every Friday.
Arts & Crafts:Your child will be doing the projects:
- Shapes
- Blottos

Assalamualaikum,
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Guidance Academy's Kindergarten. We are delighted that your child is part of our family! We look forward to getting to know each child as we grow together this year. Our class will provide each child with a safe and loving learning environment. Each day will be filled with fun and exciting adventures to help your child develop spiritually, academically, and socially. The class will be learning and exploring many concepts and themes throughout this year, and we are excited to begin our journey together.
Let me take the opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Syeda Vasia. I am Illinois certified to teach grades Kindergarten to ninth. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern Illinois University. I feel pleased with Guidance Academy's caring staff and good reputation and hope you feel the same.
Each month you will receive a newsletter to let you know about our weekly themes, class activities, and important events in the classroom. We will also send all correspondence home in your child's folder via his/her book bag, so please check it daily! Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. To keep parents informed about their child's progress, a report card will be sent home at the end of each quarter.
