Dear Parents of the second grade class,
Assalamualaikum! My name is Amina Lakhi and by the will of Allah (swt) I will be your child's second grade Islamic studies teacher along with the Science subject. Alhamduillah I am an Alima graduate of Darul Uloom Al-Madania, Buffalo New York.
It's hard to believe but it's that time of the year again - the beginning of a new school year. Welcome back! And while you aren't part of the teaching staff, you are just as important to your children's education as we are.
Your child will receive the best education when you and our dedicated teachers work as a team. It's a parent's enthusiasm, support and involvement that inspires children to do their best; and a teacher's ability to teach what they need to learn. Together we can achieve wonderful things.
There's a lot of excitement ahead of us, including new teachers to meet, new books to read, new friends to meet and new skills to master and I look forward to you sharing in those exciting times.
Second grade is a tremendously important year in your education. We will take steps together as we work towards success and prepare for your child's future. As we travel the road of this second grade trip together, we will be challenged to grow in many ways and, if we are willing to work hard, we will love the direction that this journey will take you in!
I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best this year to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning experience in the classroom. However, I cannot do this alone: I need your help. We both need to be partners in the learning process. I need each of you to encourage your child at home by helping to ensure that they have completed their assignments , and help them study for quizzes, if necessary. I will keep you informed of all assignments and subjects that are covered in our second grade class.
I hope to make your child's learning experience a fun and exciting one, and I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child's years of schooling.
Sincerely,
Amina Lakhi
